Vaccine Decisions: Educate Yourself Before You Make Medical Choices for Your Family
By Britney Valas, Special to JenniferMargulis.net
And THIS is why we say to educate yourself before you make vaccine decisions and medical choices for your family…
You have to feel comfortable with your choices and your vaccine decisions, and be able to hold up under pressure.
Be friendly and don’t get ugly. But be confident with your choices. Decisions about vaccines are yours, not the doctor’s or the nurse’s.
A Well Baby Check
We went in for Lotte’s 1-year checkup and her regular vaccine-friendly doctor was not available.
Instead, we saw another very experienced doctor.
Immediately, he brought up vaccines.
As soon as I told him we weren’t doing them, you would have thought I called his baby ugly!!
Man, smoke out the EARS!!
He challenged me with question after question and just wanted to argue with me about our vaccine decisions. ?
When people are in this frame of mind, I find it best to change the subject as soon as possible while dropping a few tidbits to answer his questions.
Dr: “How many colds and ear infections for Charlotte this year?”
Dr: “Excuse me? Not one?”
Dr: “Measles is deadly. It kills people. I have seen it, you have not and I know better.”
Me: “Oh, wow! How many people in America have died from measles? In America?”
Dr: “Oh, I don’t know, but it can happen! I just saw on the news an outbreak of measles and you just need to be protected!”
Me: “Oh, wow! How many people died?”
Dr: “I haven’t watched the news lately but what about those with cancer and immunocompromised? You are putting them at risk!”
Me: “Oh, wow! What about the patients recently vaccinated? Aren’t the immunocompromised supposed to stay away from them? Do the recently vaccinated know how risky the live-virus shedding vaccines can be?”
Dr: “I believe vaccines are necessary for good health and we all need them.”
Me: “Funny… my kids stopped getting sick with ear infections and croup as soon as we stopped vaccinating.”
Dr: “Mercury is a bunch of hogwash and I don’t believe in mercury testing. It’s all ridiculous! I get my flu shot every year because it’s safe!”
Me: “I’m concerned about the aluminum and polysorbate 80 and other ingredients in vaccines as well. It’s funny, as soon as we started detoxing our kids to remove their heavy metals, their chronic eczema disappeared! My son’s speech improved more with every round of chelation than with the 18 months of speech therapy he had.”
Dr: “Well, whatever works for you.”
~A little while later the nurse walks in~
Nurse: “Sign this form declining all these vaccines we recommend.”
Me: “I’m not going to sign that form, but thank you.”
Nurse: “Well, I need to see about you not signing this form! Wait here.”
Me (as I’m walking out the door): “We’re leaving and have a nice day.”
I was uneducated after giving birth to #4.
I knew I didn’t want the TDaP, but I didn’t know exactly why.
My OB absolutely refused to discharge me from the hospital until I took the shot.
I wasn’t aware of my rights, nor did I understand enough about the risks to feel comfortable in standing up for myself.
I was forced into a vaccine and bullied by the doctor I literally trusted with my life.
Parents, please educate yourselves.
Please look into both sides of the vaccine debate with an open mind.
Please research every single ingredient until you truly understand what you are putting into your child’s body.
As you can see, even very experienced doctors are getting their education from the news!
You need to research independently to feel comfortable with your choices and make the best vaccine decisions for your family. Your research may help you decide to go against your doctor’s recommendations.
And those vaccine decisions just might save your child’s life.
